What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I thoroughly enjoy working through problems with my students that although at first appear challenging, can eventually be solved through hard work and diligence. In this sense, I find it deeply rewarding when my students have a "Eureka!" moment, where suddenly a difficult concept such as Lenz's Law, begins to makes sense. Further, I take great pride in seeing my students achieve academically, feeling very happy for them when their hard work pays off, and seeing their marks improve.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am an empathetic person and always strive to deliver the best tutoring experience possible. I tailor my lesson to the individual student, keeping in mind that students understand concepts at different rates, and that different students prefer different learning environments. I take the time to listen to my students - encouraging them to ask any questions that come to mind, operating under the philosophy that "there is no such thing as a bad question". Furthermore, given my strong grasp of the topics I teach, I am able to explain concepts in a variety of ways, helping my students view problems from multiple perspectives. I also aim to keep the atmosphere friendly and engaging, placing high emphasis on learning effective study habits, and urge my students to love learning as well as the material that I am teaching.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Although it is highly important that a tutor teaches their students the material covered in the syllabus, it is equally as important that the tutor teaches their students the tools required to succeed in a competitive academic environment. As a tutor, I instil in my students a great work ethic, teaching them highly effective study and time management skills, alongside the mindsets required for their successful usage. In so doing, I empower students to achieve success not only in their academic goals, but also beyond the walls of a classroom, including in their work, sporting, and family life.
