Nokuthaba demonstrated a strong understanding of probability during our recent session, making very few mistakes overall. The errors she did make were minor and often related to simple arithmetic rather than conceptual misunderstandings. On the few occasions she was unsure of how to solve a problem, she was able to work through it with guidance, either reaching the correct answer independently or clearly showing that she understood the explanation. Her confidence has grown significantly, and she has expressed feeling well-prepared for her upcoming exam. Based on her recent progress, I am confident she has the skills necessary to perform well.
While Nokuthaba's overall grasp of probability is solid, she continues to make recurring errors with two-way tables. This area remains a challenge, and I plan to dedicate the majority of our next session to addressing this concept in depth. With focused practice, I am optimistic that she will overcome this difficulty and further solidify her understanding before the exam.

Bella showed a good understanding of geometry concepts like perimeter and area for quadrilaterals, which aligns with what she mentioned she’s currently learning in class. During the session, she was engaged and asked thoughtful questions when she needed clarification. Breaking down the problems step-by-step seemed to help her grasp the more challenging concepts. To wrap up the session on a positive note, we played a quick game of Uno, which she really enjoyed and seemed to appreciate as a way to end the lesson on a lighter, more fun note.
Bella struggled with understanding parts of a whole, particularly when working with fractions and decimals. These areas seem to be less familiar to her and will benefit from focused practice in upcoming sessions. Strengthening her foundation in these topics will be important, as they are key to her overall math progress. Addressing these challenges in small, manageable steps will help build her confidence and ensure steady improvement.

Chase has made amazing progress with identifying parts of speech! He’s getting much better at accurately picking them out, and even when he didn’t choose the most precise one for the context, his reasoning still made sense. It was exciting to see how engaged he was with the charades game—he clearly enjoyed it and stayed motivated the entire time. This kind of active, hands-on approach really seems to work well for him, and his enthusiasm for learning was great to see.
Chase is doing so well, but there’s still a little work to do when it comes to choosing the most accurate part of speech for a word in a specific context. We’ll keep practicing this in future sessions to build even more confidence. Since he responds so positively to active games like charades, I’ll keep looking for similar activities to keep the momentum going and help him keep improving.

Nokuthaba demonstrated a strong grasp of probability concepts during today’s session. She worked confidently through most of the problems and approached the practice with a great attitude, which reflects her preparation for the upcoming assessment. Her understanding of probability rules and her ability to apply them to various scenarios were impressive. This indicates that she has built a solid foundation in the subject. Additionally, she tackled challenges with determination, seeking clarification only when necessary, which shows her growing independence in problem-solving.
While Nokuthaba performed well overall, she encountered some difficulties with questions involving a deck of cards. The challenges seemed to stem more from unfamiliarity with the categorization of cards—such as suits, colors, and number distributions—than from a misunderstanding of the probability concepts themselves. Another area requiring more focus is her ability to set up two-way tables and accurately identify the sample space from them. We will dedicate additional time to two-way tables in our next session on Wednesday, along with a brief review of card-based problems, to ensure she is fully prepared for her assessment.
