I love creating a supportive environment where they feel comfortable exploring new ideas and asking questions. Each student's unique challenges keep me engaged and continually learning. Helping them gain confidence and achieve their goals reminds me of the profound impact education can have, and it's a privilege to be part of that process.

While Chase did well with commas when he was fully applying himself, much of the lesson he wasn’t really listening to the feedback I was giving him. Instead, he was mostly guessing where to place the commas rather than thinking through the rules. Moving forward, we’ll need to focus more on getting him to actively engage with the feedback so that he can apply comma rules more intentionally. That being said, he has the ability to do well when he focuses, so reinforcing that effort will be key!

Bella showed major improvement with division today! She tackled larger numbers and remainders with confidence, which is a fantastic step forward. Even with the increased difficulty, she handled the challenges well and demonstrated great problem-solving skills. Her progress has been strong enough that I feel comfortable pausing division for now and revisiting it later to ensure continued practice. Overall, she did an amazing job!
While Bella did very well overall, there were a couple of small struggles during the session. These weren’t major issues, but they are areas to keep in mind for future practice. When we revisit division later, reinforcing these concepts will help solidify her understanding even more. That said, her progress today was outstanding, and she should be proud of how far she has come!

Chase did well overall, and we’re continuing to work on strengthening his grammar skills. I noticed last week that he was struggling with punctuation, so I introduced some definitions to help guide him today. He’s definitely capable, and with more structured practice, I think he can make good progress.
He wasn’t especially cooperative today and tended to guess rather than really trying to apply the concepts. Instead of reading the definitions, he would just point to one and guess. I think we may need to focus on building his confidence with reading sentences so that he feels more comfortable engaging with the material instead of relying on guesswork. I’ll keep working on ways to encourage him to slow down and really think through the answers.

Bella made noticeable progress with division today! Last week, I was walking her through the entire process, but this time, she was able to work through more of the problems on her own. By the end of the session, she was doing much better with identifying how many times the divisor fits into the dividend, which is a huge step forward.
She did struggle a little at first with remembering that the divisor goes into the dividend and not the other way around. This is a common mix-up, but with a bit more practice, I’m confident she’ll get it down. Overall, she’s so close to mastering this concept!
