What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

The most enjoyable part of tutoring is working closely with my students and learning their strengths and weaknesses. I find that it is easier to teach students when tutors are able to use the students' strengths when approaching a concept that they are struggling with. It is very rewarding when the students are able to understand and apply the concept correctly, and gradually gain their confidence throughout the course of the tuition.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I empathise with the students thus I find having a higher than normal level of patience helped me in getting through to students who are less inclined to focus in class. I prefer to ask the students how they arrive to an answer, and identify where they went wrong instead of simply telling them their answers are wrong. This helps to build their confidence. In addition, I find that I have good classroom management- firm yet approachable, and this has helped in ensuring that my students focus and maximise their time learning in class.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important things a tutor can do for a student is to firstly be patient. It is important to match the students' pace especially in the first few interactions as earning their trust will go a long way in facilitating the teaching process. It is also vital to build the confidence of the students in order to help them overcome their mental obstacle especially in doing Mathematics. This can be done by asking them to explain their thought process rather than simply telling them that their answers are wrong.
