What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy the process of coming up with a way to present a concept that is difficult into something that is understandable. When a student comes across something that they don't understand, it's not the concept that's the problem but the way it is presented. As a tutor, I enjoy the ability I have to recognise this confusion and recreate a better understandable explanation.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I obtain high academic levels through my ability of self-teach study. I don't rely on lecturers or tutors to teach me but to only assist. I think it is really important to share my study skills to students to ensure that they have the tools to also achieve high grades.
It is really important to have the attention to detail to construct helpful notes and self-written explanations of individual concepts. The knowledge of how to use a variety of academic resources, such as websites, tutorial videos and books that can assist when studying at home.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The important thing is to develop the student's ability to independently study. It is like that proverb 'Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.' There are going to be times where the student will find themselves in a position with an urgent question regarding their assignment which is due the next day. However, their teacher and tutor are not available to assist. This is when the student takes the initiative to identify their misunderstanding and to solve their problems by referring to their detailed notes or their other resources.
