What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy improving students' understanding of and enthusiasm towards maths- it is very rewarding watching students become more confident in their ability and seeing them improve, not just in terms of actual grades but in the effort they put in.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I am very passionate and enthusiastic about maths which I feel students pick up on and I like to believe that this is contagious. I like to be creative and to add a bit of humour into teaching/tutoring because I believe it relieves some of the maths anxiety many students have.
I also enjoy finding new ways of teaching concepts and catering to different learning styles as I recognise that we all learn in different ways.
Most important things I can do for a student π
Increase their confidence, reduce any anxiety they have about maths
Provide new and interesting ways of solving problems
Helping them relate what they're doing to the real world (for example, even if it is not something they will be doing in the future, learning how to reason and problem solve will always be valuable to them)
Cater to different learning styles by getting to know your students
Be reflective and consider whether your teaching style is helping your student, take on board their feedback to improve yourself.
