What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I really like the teaching process as I get to explain interesting concepts and interact with those younger than me. It is really satisfying to see their smiles when they understand the concepts they were struggling with and seeing students get motivated as their marks improve over the weeks. I also like the challenge of using different methods to explain the same concepts as students have different learning styles and pace. The key is finding the most suitable and fun method for each individual student. It is a tiring yet enjoyable process. It also helps to enrich my experience as I get a lot of practise myself and thus solidify my basic academic knowledge.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am very neat and organised so I will ensure that the materials and lesson plans are all in order. I also like to plan ahead so that I can make use of my time effectively and that I do not miss out on anything important. The tutees will feel calmer when their tutors are confident of the lesson material and schedule, and I am confident with my skills. I also know how to break down complicated concepts so that students can easily understand the things they are learning about and not just stick to rote learning. I also do not give up easily so I will try my best to teach even if the students have learning or attitude problems.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe a tutor has to make sure that students fully understand the material they are learning so that they can apply what they learn and ultimately be able to do the more difficult questions by themselves. With constant practice and drilling, students will be more comfortable doing the questions themselves and be confident in the subject. Also, the tutor needs to ensure that the student is allowed to ask questions and explore the things are curious about so that their learning is not stifled. Happy and satisfied tutees tend to be more motivated, enthusiastic and can learn more effectively.
