What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy seeing improvement in the student work- just as I went through the journey of learning to succeed in highschool level math, an experience I found extremely rewarding. I hope to fuel these students with confidence in their ability, and learn to love math and a subject

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

As a university student studying mathematics and achieving unscaled scores in both band 6 and E4, I feel confident in my mathematical understanding and application. Additionally, as student head of wellbeing in my final year of highschool, I feel so have a deep strength of reading social cues, and feel highly capable of adapting my learning style to best empower my student in their journey of understanding. As an older sister, I know that I have learnt how to communicate effectively with younger people- and feel confident I would make an approachable and strong teacher.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Support and encouragement. As a student myself, I know the reality of struggling in learning, and have benefitted immensely from teachers of students that showed great compassion and words of encouragement when explaining concepts I found tricky. As a tutor, I know it is my job to create a safe and comfortable environment that allows for the asking of any range of question, without feelings of judgement or criticism. Being able to support a student, both in my words and in their success, is a vital aspect of a healthy tutor- student relationship, and the most important thing a tutor can do.
