What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy is the possibility of promoting autonomy in students and fostering a curious and critical mindset. It is also gratifying to allow people to broaden their perspectives on complex topics by encouraging students to see problems from different sides. Moreover, I am someone who values independent learning, so I am more focused on students understanding core concepts, rather than learning and memorising things in the short term.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I possess strong problem-solving skills, which are accompanied by extensive experience either professionally or academically. I have also honed different teaching methodologies and adapted quickly to different scenarios depending on the student's needs. Additionally, I am passionate about learning, so I always try to convey this to my students.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing I can do for a student is providing the tools and resources to be able to tackle problems independently, no matter the difficulty. To do this, it is important to design personalised methodologies that allow students to learn the basic knowledge, get familiar with some examples and then put into practice what was learned with help and guidance.

About Juan
Introduction
I am 27 years old from Colombia, and I have been living in Australia for more than 2 years. Currently, I am doing a Master's in Chemical Engineering at Curtin University with a scholarship (granted by the Colombian Government) thanks to my academic performance during my undergraduate studies. I also was a top achiever on the university entry test and got a full scholarship to do my bachelor's degree.
Passion for Teaching
Teaching is more than a side hustle, and I realised this when I was working as a tutor during my undergraduate studies. I have participated in 2 volunteer projects back in Colombia as a teacher in STEM with underprivileged children from different age groups. I have also worked as a tutor helping high school students pass the university entry test, achieving exceptional results. Thanks to all these experiences, I am confident I can help students with different backgrounds and needs.
