What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I have always enjoyed helping my peers with their studies, as well as mentoring younger students with adjusting to high school. I love seeing people succeed. Whether that's with their studies or with other endeavours.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am a patient person with a relaxed demeanour. I can understand that each student will learn and understand things differently, and I can accomodate my teaching style to different students needs. I am a recent high school graduate and can understand what it's like to be an ATAR student and the struggles that follow. I believe when it comes to learning, that understanding how something works is the key to succeed rather than memorisation without understanding. I have completed specialist math, methods, as well as physics and chemistry. And I am well versed in how to pass these subjects. I also graduated high school with an ATAR of 94.8.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student would be to find a way to engage them and encourage them to succeed in their studies. To help them actually see that they're getting better, and keep them motivated to continue working the best they can.

About Me
Hi, I'm Ben. I'm a recent high school graduate taking a gap year to focus on personal development, gaining workplace experience and travelling. I've been accepted into Curtin University for a batchelor of design to start in 2026.
I like working out, painting, cooking, skateboarding, socialising, and MATH! :) I like getting to know new people and spending time with my family.
My Skills
In high school I studied math Methods and Specialist respectively. As well as Physics and Chemistry. I recieved top marks in all 4 subjects and graduated with an ATAR score of 94.8.
I have an in depth understanding of all the key concepts from these subjects and know how to equip my students to genuinely understand these concepts and receive the grades they want.

Student was able to understand the new topics I was teaching fairly quickly. Student was already familiar with how to anti-differentiate polynomials and was able to apply this skill in everything else I taught.
Occasional mistakes when working out anti-derivatives of composite functions. This is totally fine, as this was the students first time doing these kinds of problems. Occasionally "getting lost" in problems that required a bit of expanding and simplifying. Not fully simplifying fractions, (answers were correct however and this is an easy fix.)

Student appears to already have a good grasp of the ideas and concepts of differentiation. Student understood how to differentiate polynomial functions and understood the power rule, chain rule, quotient and product rules. Student appeared to quickly understand the concepts I was helping to revise.
Occasional mistakes when differentiating with the chain rule (Forgetting to multiply by the derivative of the nested function.) Slight difficulty in expanding brackets.
