What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
The most fulfilling aspect of tutoring is getting to know my students and working with them to enhance their skills. I enjoy instilling educational confidence within students that expands beyond the session allowing them to feel motivated in all their classes and fulfilled in their studies.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
My biggest goal is to enhance my students' learning within the term/year. After each session, I use a specific checklist to tailor the learning experience for each student. This includes identifying what teaching tools did/didn't work, what topics need improvement, how to better cater the sessions to the student's learning style, preparing lessons for upcoming assignments, etc. I take the time to learn each student's most effective studying forms and introduce them to tools they can use independently.
Most important things I can do for a student π
To optimize student success, educators must establish a safe learning space where needs are understood. This involves fostering an environment for open communication. The constant ability to learn and reflect is crucial in order to adapt to the changing study designs and new curriculums and to continuously meet studentsβ changing needs. Effective preparation before classes ensures the best learning experiences, with session layouts tailored to individual learning styles. Some students benefit from visual aids like slideshows and mindmaps, while others prefer active techniques like worksheets.

He explains questions well and I can clearly see he understands the concept of positive and negative numbers really well. When he has any confusion, he is not afraid to raise them and ensure we have gone through all issues. He has improved at ordering his notes, which we work on as we move through content. Hence, he is progressing slowly and increasingly precisely when moving through questions.
his note-taking, when completing questions and doing homework can still be improved. Main focus is keeping up with content, and moving through questions at an organized and timely manner.
he explains questions well, can communicate why or how he got things wrong or right.

timing of the session is a little tight, moving through content should get smoother as the term goes ahead
Emmanuel is inquisitive and interested in his learning. He engaged well with the material and picked up new concepts fast.

He needs to slow down and allow himself to think when answering questions rather than rushing to get the answer. He also needs to work on his notetaking to clarify his working out, answers and keep him on track when looking for a solution.

Covered as much matierial as possible as test is tomorrow, depended understanding of certain topics. She has started making cue cards as of last session's recommendation.
did not take notes on the subject, which I cleared up must be done for the next test and for the current material she is going to be tested on. understanding of material is weak and she did not focus on definitions. I incorporated the definitions into my powerpoints in order to normalise the stress on needing to know them. Not prepared enough for test, but we have set some goals for what we want to do moving forward.
