What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy tutoring for its ability to create a positive and supportive environment where students feel confident in their learning. As an SRC and Peer Support member, I've developed a passion for fostering a network of support and guiding students to reach their potential. As a Kathak dance mentor, I've learned to break down complex concepts into manageable steps, and am passionate about sharing my own knowledge and insights. Watching students grasp challenging ideas and grow in their abilities is deeply fulfilling.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

As a Kathak teacher, I work with a diverse range of students which has strengthened my ability to adapt teaching methods to honour each student’s individuality. This ensures that students will learn to the best of their ability and reach their full potential. As a Peer support and SRC mentor, I have developed an empathetic nature, which will allow me to offer advice to support students in achieving their academic pursuits. These roles have improved my self discipline and organisation, which are important strengths in tutoring, as students can rely on me for consistent support.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

A tutor plays a pivotal role in a student's development, in both academic growth and personal resilience. As a peer support and SRC member, I can understand that school can be a challenging time due to academic pressures and personal changes. Thus, it is essential for a tutor to be a source of support and provide guidance when navigating these adversities. It is important for tutors to recognise that every student has a unique way of learning and absorbing information. Tutors must adapt their teaching methods and showcase ideas in different ways to best suit the learning needs of the student

About Anvi

Studying Actuarial and Bachelor of Commerce at Macquarie University

I am currently studying Actuarial Studies and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) at Macquarie University. With a strong analytical mindset and a passion for problem-solving, I am eager to explore the intersection of risk management, financial analysis, and strategic decision-making.

Volunteer at Epping Street Feed

I am passionate about making a positive impact through both tutoring and volunteering. For three years, I have volunteered at Epping Street Feed, preparing over 100 meals weekly for vulnerable individuals in Woolloomooloo. As a tutor, I bring this same dedication by creating a supportive learning environment where students feel confident and motivated. My goal is to help students excel academically while fostering resilience and a love for learning.

Kathak Dancer

Kathak is a classical dance form that has connected me to my Indian culture and strengthened my identity. I take weekly lessons to refine my skills, and regularly perform at charity events and original productions. As a senior dance student, I also mentor others in dance compositions, building my empathy and leadership skills.
