What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I find joy in communicating variious perspectives of mathematical problems, broadening students' understanding and forming approaches to problem-solving. Witnessing the moment when a student grasps a concept is the most rewarding part for me, as I have successfully broadened their perception to the problem.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I have a profound passion for maths whilst also equipped with a solid understanding of various topics demonstrated by my performance in Extension 1 and 2, also university-level math courses like First Year Algebra, Calculus, and Discrete Mathematics. Despite lacking formal tutoring experience, I've informally taught math to friends, neighbors, and younger relatives, honing my patience and empathy in addressing challenging concepts. In addition, it has also develop my organisational skills breaking down complex problems into manageable steps, facilitating students' complete comprehension.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A vital aspect for tutors is to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to meet each student's specific requirements. This approach optimises time allocation, enabling focused attention on individual weaknesses. Tutors should actively foster critical thinking skills, guiding students towards problem-solving rather than simply providing an answer. Central to effective tutoring is patience and empathy, as it entails offering constructive feedback on both strengths and areas for improvement, while nurturing a supportive environment for student growth.

Cameron follows along very nicely in deconstructing the question with me. He's exploring new strategies on how to approach an exam-style question.
Cameron often hesitates to give an answer although he gives the correct answer in the end. He lacks a bit of confidence in answering the problems which is an issue as it is very essential in starting to solve the question in actual exam conditions. Cameron is encouraged to attempt exam-style questions, this will allow him to get more comfortable with choosing appropriate approaches in solving specific questions (with confidence).

Cameron retains all the fundamentals of linear equations such finding gradients and x&y-intercepts, parallel & perpendicular lines and vertical & horizontal lines.
Despite him having omprehensive knowledge of the fundamentals of linear eqations, Cameron is encouraged to practice more of the agebraic aspect of the equations itself rather than graphically. In addition, it is also encouraged that Cameron practices his algebra as he occasionally struggles to compute fractions as well as negative numbers.
