What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
1) helping students improve their grades
2) seeing students gain confidence with maths
3) sharing my passion for maths with students and showing them the importance of maths in real life
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
1) Can tutor to any type of student from any background or nationality whether struggling or a high achiever wanting to improve further
3) proven track record in tutoring maths
4) proven ability to mentor and experience with mentoring in the workforce
5) highly qualified in the subject area (see CV)
6) Born in Australia. First language in English. 1st place in English literature at university. 2nd language is Spanish (intermediate).
7) married with 3 grown children. Al of them achieved band 6 in maths in the NSW HSC.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
1) listen to the student and the parent. students should be the ones doing the most talking and asking questions. Tutors job is to listen to the student and give them the help they need
2) help the student gain confidence in maths but also in study in general. Often if a student improves in one area it also carries over to other subjects. The skills gained in maths study will also help in other subjects.
3) work on weak areas, dont waste time on what the student is already good at. In other words, focus, focus, focus.
4) have a plan. set realistic study and grade goals
