What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy the most about tutoring is definitely the opportunity to witness the growth in my students, both academically and personally. It is so incredibly rewarding to guide someone through a concept they once found challenging and seeing the moment it “clicks†for them, providing them with the confidence in themselves to keep pursuing different obstacles. I love creating an environment that is supportive enough where they feel encouraged to makes mistakes, ask questions and truly engage with the material. It's not just about teaching but helping students acknowledge their potentials.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths as a tutor reside in patience, adaptability and communication. I understand that each student learns differently, and I tailor my approach to suit their unique needs. Whether that requires breaking down complex ideas into simple steps or finding ways to relate subjects to personal interests. For example, once, a student struggled with writing, therefore, I assigned them to watch TV and create a story based on a character. This task combatted their reluctance but also improved their skills. I enjoy working together to resolve any issues creatively.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do is make learning engaging, build their students’ confidence, and be open to adapting to what originally worked. Confidence empowers students to approach obstacles with positive mindsets while engaging and personalised lessons help them stay motivated and curious even whilst experiencing academic lows. By personalising each interaction, a tutor can turn frustration into progress and unlock a student’s potential. A good tutor teaches the material alongside implementing good habits and a love of learning.
