What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Personally, the most enjoyable aspect of tutoring is the feeling once the lesson is finished because every time we walked away from our sessions my students verbally expressed to me that they felt more confident, more knowledgable than they were than before we started and happy. Knowing that they learned with me and actually found it enjoyable in the process was the most rewarding feeling.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I would say my strengths as a tutor is that: - I'm very patient and adaptable, I understand that all children learn at different paces and I'm more than happy to cater to that and adjust my teaching methods so that it best suits my student. - I'm warm and friendly, no one wants to be stuck with an intimidating tutor where they feel as though they can't ask questions or get anything wrong (I have felt this before when I've been tutored!). I'm here to help you and asking/getting things wrong is apart of the learning process.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Honestly, the most important things a tutor can do for a student is encouragement and facilitate involvement. Encouraging students to answer questions, not be afraid to get things wrong, ask questions of their own, be involved in interactive activities/questions that help solidify key concepts is fundamental in learning. It's one thing to read information from a textbook and tell them to copy it down, but it's another thing to get them involved, engaged and encouraged to continue. I maintain the belief that strong words of encouragement aid in persistence and feelings of accomplishment.
