What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
When I was previously a tutor for two years, my favourite thing was after having just completed a session with a student, I felt as though I had made a difference! In the long run I loved developing a professional relationship with my students where they could feel comfortable with my style of teaching, and form an excited approach to learning! I also loved receiving feedback from parents that they noticed a real difference from not only their child’s grades but also their approach to studying.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I feel that a quality that makes me stand out are my interpersonal skills with children, especially primary school aged children. I think that my demeanour is casual and friendly (in a fully professional and responsible way) so that the students feel at ease to learn. I explain concepts in a firm but gentle way, and when mistakes are made I assure that’s it’s no trouble at all, but show them the best way to make corrections.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Within the professional tutor/student relationship the best thing a tutor can leave with a student is a good work ethic, that was enforced not harshly but rather within a positive environment. Furthermore, if they can take the approaches and skills in relation to learning in many of their future endeavours. I feel these are the signs of a good teacher! Learning shouldn’t be a punishment but rather an area for academic flourishment.
