What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I believe that tutoring can be very enjoyable. Firstly, you get to support and help those who have gone through the same efforts or similar situations as you. Secondly, you can help students find fun and interesting ways to engage in learning. Lastly, you can learn from the students as well, new techniques, new ideas, and new knowledge in general.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I believe that I am understanding and compassionate, not only is tutoring about teaching someone how to do a certain task or teach them how to solve problems, it is also about supporting and understanding them. I believe that I can help them mentally learn and grow as students. I am patient and will not force or rush into topics without making sure they fully understand.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Listen, I believe as a tutor the most important thing to do is listen to what the student has to say, whether it is problems, curiosities, or more. Tutoring is not primarily about teaching but supporting and trying to understand the children for who they are. Different students have different ways of learning as well as ways they feel comfortable learning, it is important to listen and understand their thoughts.

About Pippa

Who am I?

I am a Thai-Australian, over the past 17 years I have been living abroad and travelling around the world. I have lived in Thailand, China, and Indonesia, I have been to 6 out of the 7 continents. I have recently relocated to Australia for University, however due to me being an International student I have a 7 month break before I start, in this time I am trying to keep up with my academics and continue to learn.

Academic History

I have completed the International Baccalaureate, this is a 2 year course that consists of 6 Higher level and standard level classes. The International Baccalaureate covers more topics and additional topics than other courses, using this additional knowledge I can encourage students to become curious and learn more about specific topics.

Experience

Over the past 2 years I have mentored and tutored children ranging from 3-10th grade. I was offered to baby sit and tutor the primary school students, I would sit down with them and assist them in their math and english classes. For High school students, I would assist them with the new information they are leaning that I had previously learnt, and mentoring them in study methods and more .
