What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Mathematics is my passion so passing on the knowledge I've accumulated is highly rewarding. I also enjoy seeing the excitement in someone when they start to understand something that they've been struggling with. I find that I grow as a mathematician myself while teaching as I'm having to explain core concepts very clearly which apply to everything I'm currently learning at university. I feel as if I'm passing on what other tutors passed on to me when I started my academic journey!

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I'm very understanding of the difficulty of mathematics and the varying levels of people's ability. I know that if someone doesn't understand what I'm showing them then it's up to me to find a new way of explaining until they do! When a student does begin to understand then I know the importance of enthusiasm and encouragement to keep students engaged and motivated. I'm dedicated to helping my students and will go an extra mile to help them with their goals - whether that be researching questions they've had in my own time or squeezing them in on short notice.

Looking back on some of the best tutors I've had over the years, I have found certain characteristics which left a lasting impression on me. These people focused on the concepts of mathematics and used lots of examples relating any piece of math we already knew to give us a deeper understanding. They were extremely approachable and used different techniques depending on who they were helping. They encouraged us to feel as if we could learn anything if we put the time and energy into it!
