What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Although I have never personally tutored a student before, I have been tutored and understand the profound impact it can have. During my final years of high school, my tutor provided essential support and guidance, serving as a mentor and role model. This experience was incredibly valuable and helped me succeed academically. I am a patient and passionate person, eager to guide students and create a similar positive and supportive experience that I had. I believe in the transformative power of tutoring and am excited to help students reach their full potential.

My goal is to help students feel supported and confident throughout their educational journey. I am dedicated to creating an encouraging environment where students can thrive and achieve their academic goals.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

A tutor should be someone the student can rely on, especially when they face challenges or feel stressed about their studies. Being available and dependable allows students to build a strong relationship with their tutor, fostering trust and confidence. Consistency in tutoring sessions helps students to grow faster in their education and develop a positive attitude towards learning. By being there for them regularly, a tutor can help students stay on top of their work, overcome obstacl

Layla did really well with the visual aspects of understanding the graphs. She was able to read the graphs and interpret what they meant in relevence to the question. Layla had a well-rounded understanding of how the same set of data is translated into different graph e.g., column graph vs pie chart. Additionally, her engagement throughout, made a big difference in her ability to learn and improve within the lesson. We talked about relatable real life examples which made it easier for her to understand the content.
After the lesson, the main takeaways for Layla to work on were understanding the frequency tables and how that translates into a graph. Additionally, to ensure she reads the questions slowly and double check her answers to ensure they are correct. An example of this was in multiple choice questions, she was able to get it down to an answer that was similar to the correct answer, but then she would notice it is incorrect once she had a closer look. Thus being important to take her time and not rush reading and answering the questions.

Layla did really well this lesson and was glad to see she completed her homework and took on the content/feedback from the week prior - it certianly showed in the lesson. Layla's terminiology of the data has improved greatly and she is able to understand key definition and use them in a conversation or question. She has a strong knowledge of what an outlier is, what median is and how to calculate range. I was impressed with Layla's knowledge of the different types of triangles, and also able to provide a visual representation. She also was confident with how to caculate the perimiter of a shape.
Layla and I will continue to develop her understanding of frequency tables, particuarly when finding mode and mean. As well as the difference between value and freqency coloms + how they correspond. Next lesson we will focus on improving her understanding of pythagoras theorm and how to calcuate the area of a four sided object. Additionally, consistently going over key terms from previous weeks so she is able to remember them whilst also learning new content.

• Good at addition and subtraction (just on 1 line). • Rhyming and Alphabet • Familiar with most of the content in the pre-grade quizzes. • Stayed engaged the whole lesson.
• Creative writing - her imaginative story had very common things – needed lots of prompting. • Work on spelling. • Tends to curve/loop her letters such as a, c and u. • Gap about 3D shapes. • Subtraction more challenging then addition.
