As a tutor, the most important thing one can do is instill a passion for questioning and reasoning among students so that they don't just listen to anything like robots but rather listen, reason and ask questions about it which will not only firm their understanding of the topic but also have a long-lasting impact in their lives. Another thing would be to not put student under stress or severe anxiety regarding stuffs they do not understand.
