What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
It is incredibly rewarding to see students proactively engage to further their own curiosity and interest the subjects they have taken. I also enjoy being able to communicate and talk to a variety of students from different backgrounds which in hindsight allows us to develop a positive bond that I believe will motivate students to engage and perform to the best of their abilities. I also enjoy the challenge in adapting to a variety of students needs, characters and goals, and working as a team to cement their conceptual understandings and contribute my part to their invaluable learning journey
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am attentive to detail, both to student work and indirect body language cues, that allow me to pinpoint their areas of weakness and facilitate more effective communication. This skill has been honed through my experience as a netball umpire, required to vigilantly monitor players for rule infringements and apply the correct penalty timely. As a recent HSC graduate who has experienced the extreme ends of the academic spectrum (40-100%), this experience has equiped me with the skills to comprehensively empathise with students of varying academic capabilities and distinct needs
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
As a student myself, I have found it very helpful when teachers are easily approachable and give me the space to openly articulate my concerns, challenges, and difficult concepts. In the process of discussion, there is a newfound clarity in knowledge and conceptual understanding that not only satisfies their thirst for more knowledge, but also builds confidence in tackling new and different questions. Additionally, it is also important for tutors to inspire students to enjoy their learning journey through their own contagious passion and interest in what they teach
