What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I myself struggled with maths as a child, and I have firsthand experience with how much a tutor can change not only your ability but also your perspective of the subject. My favourite part of tutoring is seeing the academic and personal growth of a student, and also their ability to reach their fullest potential.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am patient with kids and am extremely passionate about mathematics. I believe passion is imperative in a tutor as it enables them to put their heart and soul into transferring that passion into their student and allow them to reach their fullest potential.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think that it is imperative for the tutor to try their hardest to create a passion for the subject in the student, as this will motivate them to try as hard as they can. My passion for maths not only motivated me to study but enabled me to thoroughly enjoy and look forward to every lesson. It is also important that the tutor has an open mindset to ensure a positive and comfortable environment for the student to thrive in.

Bora has grasped the strategy of ‘talking aloud’ when doing questions. Bora was able to understand how to use the long multiplication method for 2 digit numbers. He was able to do the question by himself with confidence. He also understood how to write out numbers such as “3, 345, 267” in words with the correct spelling.
Bora found it challenging to use the long multiplication method for numbers over 2 digits. He also struggled to remember times tables with larger numbers (e.g. 9 x 8). He found the wording of worded fraction questions difficult to comprehend. It is important that Bora completes his homework in order to solidify his knowledge of the content we learned in the lesson.

Bora was able to understand the “long multiplication” method. He also began to understand the concept of creating the same denominator, however it is important that he completes the homework to practise applying the method to different scenarios (especially worded questions).
Bora found it difficult to remember the concept of "whatever you do to the denominator, do to the numerator" concept. He also struggled to understand the placement of numbers on a number line. Ensuring Bora “talks aloud” whilst doing tedious methods taught (such as long multiplication) is pivotal in avoiding small errors. It is also vital that he writes all steps of his working out.
