What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
What I enjoy most about tutoring is the realization that I possess the academic knowledge to empower others through education. Education is a powerful tool, not only for academic growth but also for personal development. Being able to share this tool with others, witnessing their growth and understanding expand, and knowing that I\'ve contributed to their journey toward success is immensely fulfilling. It\'s a reciprocal process where I learn and grow alongside my students, recognizing the transformative potential of education in both their lives and my own.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I believe one of my greatest strengths as a tutor is understanding the needs of a student and quickly being able to adapt to the right teaching method best suited for them.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I think the obvious important thing is to be there as a tutor for academic success, but also understanding that we as tutors are a part of their journey with them too hence, providing a positive and nourishing environment for growth.

Alysha was able to grasp the content quickly after working through an example. She seems to benefit from seeing an example done first and can then apply it to the questions I give her, especially when she understands her errors. Additionally, she asks questions when she is unsure, which is great and signifies that she feels comfortable with me helping her.
In terms of improvement, I would suggest that Alysha needs to memorize or learn her multiplication tables. For example, when we did 8 x 5, we had to draw the groups and lines and then count them. While memorizing times tables can be challenging at first, it is essential for her progress. I suggest she start by memorizing one table at a time, such as the 7's.

In addition to Alysha's ability to ask questions and her understanding of division after some practice, she also showed improvement in her confidence. She effectively applied examples to solve problems and completed her homework accurately I gave her last week, demonstrating her progress and engagement with the material. Overall, the lesson was productive and reinforced her foundational skills.
With division, we had to draw lines and groups to visualize the process. I strongly urge Alysha to memorize her multiplication tables, as this will help her understand and perform division more effectively.
