What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Throughout my 3-year-experience of being a volunteer mentor at Brisbane State High School, I have helped many junior students not only to improve their academic performance, but also their soft-skills such as time-management, organisation. At the end of the year, being able to see how far my mentees have grown and improved from the first time I met them is the most rewarding and enjoyable moment to me.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

As an experienced mentor who usually received great feedback from my mentees and supervisor, I believe that I have honed my abilities in test preparation and individual instruction, providing a firm foundation for the tutor position. My time-management, people-centric nature, and compassion have also afforded me excellent interpersonal skills.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

In my perspective, the most important things a tutor can do for a student involve fostering a supportive and personalised learning environment. Firstly, understanding individual needs and learning style of each student to cater to their specific strengths and weaknesses helps build a strong foundation. Providing constructive feedback and encouragement boosts the student\'s confidence and motivation, which encourages students to ask questions. Ultimately, a tutor should not only impart knowledge but also inspire a love for learning, critical thinking, and self-directed study skills in students.
