Anthony brings extensive experience as a research chemist and educator, having held multiple postdoctoral research fellowships. His academic journey includes tutoring both school and first-year university students in maths and science. Anthony''s deep understanding of chemistry, combined with his hands-on teaching experience, makes him highly competent in delivering engaging and insightful lessons to senior high school students.
With a Doctorate in Organic Chemistry, Anthony excels at breaking down complex scientific concepts into digestible content for his students. He has successfully demonstrated this skill through various projects and laboratory demonstrations during his PhD and honours studies. His ability to simplify intricate topics ensures that students not only understand but also enjoy learning subjects like chemistry and maths.
Anthony’s dedication to student success is evident from his background as a laboratory demonstrator and private tutor. His methodical approach helps students build strong foundational knowledge while boosting their confidence in challenging subjects. As a former martial arts instructor with volunteer credentials, he values discipline and perseverance—qualities he instills in his students to help them achieve their academic goals.

Elijah had been struggling with some of the ratios. Once I demonstrated how one was done (quotient rule, and how to lay out the problem-solving), he solved the others will little difficulty.

I think I've been able to break down the fundamental graphs, point out what the modifications do to the graph, and have suggested Elijah follow these assiduously

Elijah isn't necessarily the most self-disciplined student; Rebecca said as much. I've left him with some educational YouTube videos to watch (an explanation of how e was solved on Numberphile, and some of the advances in mathematics around the Renaissance in Epic Math Duels), which I'm hoping will whet his appetite for maths.
Similar to the previous lesson: I think (hope) that I've been able to walk Elijah systematically through these problems and how to approach them.

First session after the holiday break; there wasn't too much to go through. However, Elijah hasn't watched the videos. He might be a difficult student to immerse in the subject.
