What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Tutoring is so rewarding, working with kids who are finding school hard and the difference you can make in the lives of the students. The smiles they grow to have when they show you their work, and tell you about their latest tests with pride. I enjoy engaging with students from all walks of life and helping them to keep up and understand school.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths as a tutor are that I am patient and I have multiple ways of explaining things, I am passionate and want to be there, I know my limits (I don't try and tutor above my capabilities), I'm organised and always show up on time and ready for a session. I have just finished year 12, I have two little brothers going through the school systems at the moment so I know the demands of school and I am relatively in-touch with new techniques and ways of understanding.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor should push the student as much as they possibly can. Not answer the questions for them, continue making sure the student understands throughout a session and asking the student to teach a question to the tutor.
A tutor can build the confidence of a student, reassuring the student on their strengths, and encouraging them to build and work hard to achieve goals with their weaknesses. I consider meeting with the family, understanding the needs and goals of the parent/s and student before beginning to ensure that the student gets the most out of their sessions and finish feeling better.
