What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Despite my lack of formal tutoring experience, my personal favourite aspect of teaching a concept to someone is seeing their face light up the moment they understand it. I find being able to explain a topic I am passionate about and pass on that passion to a student extremely fulfilling in an environment that sometimes focuses too much on results alone.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

As a potential tutor my three main strengths are my clear communication skills, understanding of content, and dedicated and reliable character. Indeed, I have previously I have lectured at Trinity Grammar School about how to approach VCE. This experience required me to distil my personal approach and understanding of year 12 into an easily accessible format before clearly communicating it to current year 12 students. Additionally, I recently graduated from high school, achieving a raw study score of 39 in mathematical methods, 45 in economics, and 41 in biology, proving my academic capability.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

For me, the most important aspect of tutoring is being able to breakdown a concept which the student finds challenging into its key components and then explain them in a way which really resonates with a student. By doing this not only are you helping the student to understand the topic, you are enabling to student to apply the idea or concept to many different scenarios with confidence and precision. Additionally, I think it is extremely import for a tutor to get to know their students well as it enables the tutor to get the best out of the student, and the student to enjoy the sessions.
