What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love working with students from all different backgrounds and finding what is going to best support them to learn. It is very rewarding watching a student go from really struggling with a topic to fully understanding it.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my biggest strengths are my ability to work with almost any student and my level of experience.
I have been very fortunate to work in a range of positions both paid and volunteer that have exposed me to lots of different students with varying experiences and learning styles.
I have worked with students with learning disabilities, recent refugees, adults learning English as a second language, students who are in their first year of school, students in their final year of school and everything in between. I see each of these students as contributing to the way I tutor.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Firstly, I think it is very important for a tutor to build the confidence a student has in their own abilities.
Secondly, is presenting multiple ways to learn something/solve a problem. If a student is not understanding a topic it is my job to present the information in a different way and to continue to present it in as many ways as possible until we find one that works for that individual student.
Finally, I think it is crucial for a tutor to make learning enjoyable.
