What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

The most rewarding thing to me about tutoring is how it allows me to grow along with the person I am tutoring. I have found that in explaining concepts to others by breaking them down into their most basic units, I gain a better understanding as well. To add to that, I have found that as I tutor different kinds of people who think in various ways, I learn how to approach ideas from different angles tailored towards the student, also forcing me to be creative with the way I instruct.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My biggest strength as a tutor is my thoroughness in ensuring that the student understands the concept. When I tutor, I understand my role more as a guide than an instructor. I ask a lot of questions and I allow the student to reach the conclusions for themselves, and I do not move on until they demonstrate to me that they can explain an idea to me as if I was the student and they were the tutor.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Give the student confidence in themselves and their abilities. I have often found one of the greatest hinderances in peoples' abilities are themselves. I ensure not only that the student understands the topic but also that they are confident they understand it, rather than getting scared off by a difficult problem.
