What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Growing up, I was always surrounded by people who were older than me. They were smarter, tougher, stronger, and ultimately, wiser. Now, it's vice versa. I have brothers, cousins, nieces, and nephews who are very young. Every day, I would tell them stories that have a moral to them, I would teach them simple algebra to get them ahead of their mates, and more. It's the little things that are most rewarding.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a tutor, I notice that I have the ability to know what exactly the student is lacking. Then, I'd think of a simple and understanding explanation to deliver to the student. A couple of years back, I have a personal math tutor. He has a very unique way of teaching which made difficult concepts easy to understand. I've observed his way of teaching and developed it as a way of my own.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
One of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to motivate them. The process of learning can never be linear. Some students may understand the concept just by having to listen/read the explanation once. Some may understand after going through examples. And others may struggle with the concepts even after going through the explanations and examples multiple times. This is why I think giving students motivation and reassurance is the most important thing a tutor can do for a student.
