What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy connecting with youth mutually share/learn a different perspective on learning points. Tutoring for me is always a fun mutual learning experience that both I and the student gets to enjoy the process of curiosity and exploration of a variety of knowledge. I often focus on triggering the interest in the student about our intended subject, then through Q&A and practice, we are able to develop the habit of curiosity and taking action to find out the answer to their own questions.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I have multiple volunteer experiences teaching/tutoring students from year 3 to year 12; including teaching large class of 60 primary and/or secondary students in classroom setting.
Two of my most significant strength is my creativity and my natural characteristic of being a curious investigator. As an experienced youth educator, I love exploring different means to create a fun and enjoyable teaching environment that catalyzes the learning process for a long-term effect; that is usually built upon my tendency of asking why in every little thing we do/learn. For example, why do we learn advanced math like calculus or limits when it's quite irrelevant and inapplicable in everyday life? Personally, I see math as a way to train our logical thinking and problem-solving skills that bring us a completely different perspective of viewing the way the world and society work. It is these questions and discussions that I love to challenge the students with, that provoke deeper thinking and personal relevance for students to take responsibility and ownership over their learning for a long-term journey.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
For me, a tutor is not only helping the student with their homework and answering questions, it is about building trust and creating a comfortable learning environment that sparks the interest of knowledge for the students. I believe that active learning can be done if the students are intrigued by the knowledge and see how it is relevant and applicable to their everyday life. I enjoyed the fun and active ways of describing knowledge points and how they are related to little things in life.

1. Homework unfinished. Would be more beneficial for herself too if she tried to attempt the question instead of just leaving it blank 2. Be more aware about her class: teacher's teaching style, what is being covered exactly. 3. Revision on lesson notes, there seem to be lots of forgotten details after the lesson is done that contribute to the lack of homework being done.
1. Homework got 7/8 showcasing a good understanding of what's covered in the lesson 2. Strong maintenance of focus in the lesson

1. BODMAS: Be aware of the bracket and be more detailed when reading the question and make sure not to miss any symbol 2. Awareness of what's previously being taught in the school; there seems to be an oblivious understanding of the topics being covered (can be improved by doing more summarising and notes organisation) 3. Connection of each knowledge point: the ability to utilise previously learned mathematical knowledge to apply to new challenges (can be improved by clearly stating the connection between each topic and question)

1. We had a fun get-to-know game, in the beginning, to build up a rapport 2. Worked through the year 5 worksheets together and had a grasp of student's mathematic ability and some calculation habit 3. Lots of interesting questions are asked by the student to deepen the understanding of how and why certain math questions are formed 4. Strong sense of learning showcased by the student which pushed her own learning progress further 5. Stephanie is never hesitant to ask for help and can articulate her thoughts clearly
1. Time Management - the lesson went over time as we spent extra time on certain questions and weren't able to complete the full lesson within an hour 2. Number familiarity: Stephanie has a cautious approach when solving problems, though her accuracy remains high, she requires a routine of practice to be familiar with the numbers and mathematical concepts to increase the calculation pace
