What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

In my experience from informal tutoring as well as teaching friends in university, I have particularly enjoyed the process of helping others get over roadblocks which I had once struggled with. I particularly enjoy showing them what worked for me and how I solved particular problems in these subjects and through such was able to feel satisfied when they too were able to swiftly overcome these challenges. Similarly I enjoy working with others and discussing over topics which I am passionate in and that is what I find particularly enticing about tutoring.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think my strength as a tutor is utilising my own experiences in order to gauge the difficulty of particular concepts, and subsequently using these experiences to find the most efficient way to overcome the roadblock of these concepts and difficulties. I similarly believe as a person I am quite patient with the individual I am teaching and am willing to stick with them on a topic and try explain the process until they fully understand it.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student, especially in subjects relating to the sciences or math, is to properly build the foundations of the subject. To make sure that their basic understanding of a subject is there before advancing to more difficult parts of a course. I believe by establishing these foundations, it makes the jump between topics especially at a higher level a much smoother process. For instance, in terms of topics such as calculus in Methods ATAR, fully understanding the rules of derivatives and anti-derivatives before attempting to apply and graph them
