What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy working with students who have different learning styles and finding ways to engage their curiosity. When we're able to move forward and solve the problem of the missing logical or informational connection for a student to better understand different content, I really appreciate seeing the joy and excitement of students who have "lightbulb" moments of deeper understanding.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am a patient, detail-oriented teacher, and an excellent active listener who can hone in on specific misconceptions. I thrive in collaboratively working with students in dialogue to help guide them to correcting misunderstandings and build the skills to learn new concepts more effectively.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Tutors can help students build the confidence and skills to be stronger independent and collaborative learners. It's not about teaching rote information or doing the difficult processing work for students, but rather to help diagnose and address the missing links that stand in the way of students moving forward in their own learning.
