What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Tutoring is a job where you decide the direction of your role. There is no one looking over your shoulder and there is no one holding your hand. You are thrown out into the student’s world, and you learn to adapt on the fly. This independence really does help develop your problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills. Not to mention, the flexibility of tutoring means you can balance your commitments if anything else in life comes up. As a tutor, you have the power to decide what to do with your responsibility.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Helping children learn requires the ability to communicate effectively, using language and ideas they can grasp. Good tutors demonstrate strong communication skills when they can:
• Listen patiently
• Use examples to teach
• Speak clearly
• Engage students with nonverbal communication, facial expressions, etc.
• Help students visualize concepts like geometry
Empathy, good listening skills, encouraging!
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
You could be the reason a student develops a greater sense of purpose or self-esteem at school. You could be the one that sets a student straight on the true and good path to success and fulfilment. You could help give a student confidence to pursue their field of interest with more conviction. You could be the one that puts a student over the edge and into the course they wanted, which influences their life trajectory forever. You could even be the one that helps a student make it beyond their wildest dreams by giving them your experiences, expertise and support. I
