What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Tutoring is a rewarding experience. As a tutor you get to see students become more confident with the subjects and thus happier. As an individual in STEM, it also helps me keep myself on my feet, as it often requires being able to explain concepts at different levels accurately. I enjoy this challenge.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strength as a tutor lies in my patience. I believe that the best way to learn is through mistakes, as it often strengthens the critical thiking skills (as an individual learns why a particular method will not work). This means that I ask students questions to develop their method of thinking and logical reasoning. This method of tutoring requires a lot of patience and has proven very effective with the students I have helped thus far.
The peers I have tutored have also mentioned I am uplifting and thorough with my tutoring practices too.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important skill a tutor can impart to a student is the method of reasoning. Often, students who struggle in logical subjects lack the skill to reason why a particular answer is correct or incorrect. I believe this reasoning can be developed with a tutor. A one-on-one interaction helps the tutor identify the missing links in the student's understanding of the concept and hence help them through it. Other skills a tutor can teach students is the ability to identify important concepts, persistence and patience.
