What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
It's a very rewarding experience to be able to watch your students grow and improve in subjects that you're very passionate about. Perhaps the best thing about tutoring is being able to make someone fall in love with a subject they once hated because it was taught to them in a confusing or roundabout manner. Learning should be about loving what you learn rather than being preoccupied with marks and exams. If you develop passion for a subject, the marks are much more likely to follow.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my greatest strengths as a tutor is that I'm extremely patient and compassionate. Coming from a highly competitive selective school, I completely understand how it feels to be stressed and overwhelmed when you're just not able to understand the material or process information quickly in high-pressure environments. There's no such a thing as a silly question and any basic questions I extremely encourage as it is so important to have a strong foundation on which to build. I am also very observant and a good listener, which enables me to quickly and easily pick out points of weakness.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
One of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is be adaptable and acknowledge that there isn't one learning style that fits every student. A good prospective tutor should be able to explain problems/concepts from various vantage points and have the ability to communicate information clearly and concisely to their students using a variety of methods.
