What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I like tutoring as it a process of engaging with some about a specific subject and trying to make sense of it.
Each student is unique and is on a journey. The fact that I can play a role in their progress is satisfying.
As a learner, I too get to keep in touch with the basics and the most efficient concepts which will help me in my professional roles.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Tutoring is skill which requires empathy, patience and the ability to make sense of things. I have all of these qualities as my strength.
If I am engaging with a group of students, I am quick to identify who is able to grasp and who is not.
I make my tutoring interactive and ask frequent objective questions to gauge the understanding of the students.
I deliver concepts in bit size chunks that makes it easier to process.
For e.g., Geography is combination of geo meaning Earth, and graphos meaning to write.
All of these helps me in helping them learn.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do is gravitate students toward learning by making them curious. A tutor should try to make learning an activity that students should look forward to.
As tutors it is paramount to make sure that the learnings are not just marks-centric but a means to accomplishing more.

The student didn't communicate this. I was unaware about the test. The student acted nervous, anxious and uninterested than before. He started playing video game while I was looking for data to solve the question. I could be strict but I am untrained on how to deal with students with special needs. The student wouldn't communicate the requirements for the test and acted lost. The mother was away for this session.

The student is a visual learner. I used drawings to explain concepts. He was able to answer the questions. The student challenged himself to do arithmetic operation manually instead of using calculator.
The basics were a bit shaky. Has difficulty solving longer equations. Math conventions seems to escape him. Had to take detours to make the basics clear before covering the topic at hand. Communication could be improved.

Has difficulty looking at the big picture. Was anxious and lost his train of thoughts when small topics were combined to solve problems.
