What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
One of my most memorable achievements in my early life was achieving an A* in my maths GCSE (UK) and I shared this proud moment with my maths teacher. Even from this young age I knew I wanted to share these proud moments with others just like my maths teacher did with me.
Mathematics has always been a great passion of mine, and I love passing this passion on to others. I enjoy seeing the difference I can make to students lives, however little or big that is.
I also enjoy building positive relationships with students, as they may not have a stable adult at home, making a positive difference.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
On my school placements I have received excellent feedback on how in incredibly organised and conscientious I had been.
I built positive relationships with students and showed how much I cared.
Before teaching I was an analyst for seven years, this helps me to be solution focussed, supporting students gaps in learning.
With my previous managerial experience I was always approachable and supportive with my team, which transfers to my students.
I am an excellent communicator being able to give clear instructions, while having explicit expectations.
I am highly self-motivated.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think its so important to show the students that you care about them and their achievements, and that you believe in them. Sadly, some students won't have this at home, and it can give them so much confidence to push themselves and believe in their academic goals.
I think its also important to show your passion for the subject, students can see your enthusiasm for mathematics, and that can support them in their understanding, engagement, and confidence.
You need to set expectations for your students and be consistent with them, providing positive feedback to students when they meet them.
