What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy the gradual development of confidence and understanding in students. Inherently because I enjoy learning new skills, I am happy when my students also enjoy and feel capable of doing different problem solving tasks.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
My strengths as a tutor:
I ensure students understand the fundamental concept and not just the process they are doing.
I am very patient and often will reiterate my point with an example they can relate to or understand more.
Finally, I am genuinely encouraging students, which generally I see gives me the most positive feedback and builds the confidence of the child.
Most important things I can do for a student π
The two most important things as a tutor are:
Encouragement:
To constantly reaffirm to the child they can do something even when struggling and to make them feel accomplished when completing a task they were previously bad at.
Understanding The Concept:
I believe one of the key things that distinguish tutors is if they explain the concept alongside the process. Inherently I mean if they are not teaching the student what specific formulas and steps are but rather explaining what they are doing. This gives the student a greater grasp over the conceptual idea.
