What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy tutoring for a variety of reasons. Foremost is the ability to influence my clients and their educations in a positive manner. School can omit very crucial components and topics, even if it pertains to the subject they are teaching at the time. Hence, some students may require help to connect the dots. This feeling of being the connecting link is a reason I am passionate about tutoring. Tutoring also allows me to consolidate, compound and revise my own knowledge as necessary.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
One of my largest strengths as a tutor is the ability to connect with my client on a level of understanding that permits me to tailor to what they want, and what will help them learn effectively and efficiently. In addition, I am also capable of adapting and synthesizing subject content and stimulus, and rewording it in a manner more suitable for the client at hand's understanding. Persistence and patience are two further virtues I understand and exhibit well within my bounds as a tutor.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I believe a tutor's duty is not to necessarily improve the intellectual capability of their client, but rather, guide them in a way that allows them to harness their own learning potential through customised, carefully tailored programs specific to the individual. Whilst this may not necessarily be viable for every circumstance, it is the role of the tutor to be a mentor and scalpel to the butcher's knife that is embodied by the teacher. In this analogy, it is the scalpel's role to make specific incisions, in this case to fill in critical gaps of knowledge, or curiosities gone unanswered.
