My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I believe I have outstanding communication skills that have only strengthened as I've progressed into my university program. I love to relate abstruse topics in simple terms, and utilise whatever strategy suits my student, whether memorisation, analogy, visualisation, or all three combined. Moreover, I always carry a sense of excitement into any tutoring session, a feeling which I've noticed is all too often omitted from school education. There is a thrill inherent to achieving the 'aha' moment when mastering a concept or conquering a rigorous problem, and my goal is to promote that thrill.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

A tutor possesses many pivotal roles in a student's journey to tertiary levels. I believe the single most crucial contribution a tutor can make is to fan the flame. If a student gives up on their own ability despite genuine interest, then their potential will be lost. A tutor has the unique capability, and responsibility, to recognise and emphasise potential or even the slightest zeal for learning. They are no less a motivator than a teacher. When a student is gaining confidence, a tutor must teach material in a way that ensures mastery while capturing that zeal.
