My Strengths as Tutor 💪

In high school to improve my scores in mathematics, I was always thinking of new ways to effectively study for a test and think about a concept in a new way. I believe that these strategies could be very helpful for other students who may struggle in this area. Additionally, much of my university degree has required me to write extensively in an academic style extending upon my English Literature studies in high school. In the past I have helped students develop their essay writing skills, grammatical awareness and text analysis skills.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is help them to feel confident with the task in front of them. An effective tutor will break down the concept, slowly explaining this to the student, making sure they are following each step along the way. Once the student has grasped the concept and feel confident with it, they will be able to tackle any question that uses it. I also think tutors are in a perfect position to give students individual attention that is tailored in approach, appropriate to the personal learning style of the student.
