What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoyed most about tutoring would firstly be connecting with my students. From learning about what makes them tick as a student, to learning their fears and insecurities, I am able to see them grow both academically and mentally and this is one of the most fulfilling feelings for me as a tutor.
Secondly I enjoy empowering them to achieve more by teaching them how to be independent. Through teaching them strategies and methods to achieve more from their academic life. Seeing them do well and gain confidence in the subject they were of afraid of is my goal to know I’ve done a good job.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Me strength as a tutor would firstly be empathy. As a tutor and a previous high school student, I understand the struggles of being a student and I understand the mindset that students approach studying with. Due to this empathy, I am able to relate to the students and furthermore make the learning that much more fun for them.
Secondly, I like to make learning as fun as possible in order for them to understand the subject to their best ability. I do this by creating a bond with the students and treating them as friends. My students are more perceptive to learning through this method.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things a tutor can do for their student would be investing in connection. A good tutor will take the time to connect meaningfully with the student and their families. They will be caring and compassionate, but also professional and organized.
Secondly, fostering independence. A good tutor wants to create a student that no longer requires help and so they instill those executive study skills that will serve the student well in academics and in life. Skills like organization, task initiation, focus and time management.
