What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Personally what I enjoy most is the impact you can have on your students. By helping your student you can help them excel in the subject. This could lead to so many different routes for the student, allowing them to get into the course they wanted or even just understanding and gaining confidence in the given subject.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

As a tutor, you have to understand that every student learns differently. In high school, a lot of my friends would come to me for help if they didn't understand a question or topic. After a while, I realised that depending on the purpose I would be explaining the topic differently in order for them to understand it better. Some people might just need a slight nudge in the right direction whereas others need to go back and focus on the basics of the topic as they have fallen behind. I feel like understanding and building a connection with my students is definitely my strength as a tutor.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

A tutor has to genuinely care for the student. Yes, you could sit there and spoon feed them the answers but that means they will not understand the concept. The tutor has to guide the student in the right path in order for the student to complete the question on there own so they understand the concept. The tutor and student also need to have a relationship. If the student is comfortable with the tutor then they are more likely to admit to not understanding something and allowing the tutor to help them.
