What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I absolutely love the impact tutoring has on children. I've personally struggled with mathematics and English growing up and have always felt extremely defeated in class when I did not perform well. My very first A in mathematics was a tutor (just like on this platform) and I knew then how much it meant to me and will mean to students who struggle with understanding a math concept or sentence structure in a big classroom or if they are struggling with anxiety. Having an opportunity to help them through their misconceptions is truly an impact tutoring makes and I love that about tutoring.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths as a tutor are definitely my patience and passion for teaching. I have had great experiences with patient and intentional teachers who went above and beyond for me in their lesson plans and I have learnt to reciprocate that in the teaching I do. I believe each student has the potential to reach the highest grade and I have the patience and passion to see that come through.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe in practicality and emotional support. As a tutor, I believe I should be finding out ways in which a student learns best and provide different ways to solve a problem and encourage them to do the same. I also think it's extremely important to provide emotional support to a student who is struggling with an activity to ensure they feel safe in making mistakes and providing an alternative problem-solving method for them and giving them opportunities to show their improvements throughout the week.
