What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I spent many years being trained to lead youth at a charismatic church until I left due to management changes in 2018, and have subsequently spent a couple of months sporadically leading youth at a Hindu temple organisation. Once I entered university having struggled with the university lifestyle and lacking passion in me prescribed degree I took an extended hiatus to support myself financially and reassess my choices and discovered a real passion for guiding people to find and utilise their full potential.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I have an innate gift for communication and a real bullheadedness about helping people. Even if I can't help a student directly I will often work with the parent, or in the case of adult students a close friend or family member, to give them strategies to help support the student. I work very hard to find the write ways to engage each individual student.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Patience, mediation and advocacy. It's so important to listen to your clients and your students to learn what they want, what they expect and how they feel, to bring resolutions to relevant conflicts both internal and external even if that means walking away from a client and to stand up for the rights and the efforts of your student, in an appropriate way, even to the client who hired you. Every single human is capable of learning an 90% of the time the reason they haven't yet is because nobody took the time to listen to them and try to speak their language.
