What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love it when a tutee has their breakthrough moment where they realise, with my assistance, what they were not able to understand. It brings me a feeling of fulfillment that I have helped someone learn what others may not have been able to teach properly.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Primarily, I do logical thinking and that is one of the key steps in solving any maths problem. Also, reading into the problem and determining what is actually required. I am also able to be patient and emphatise with the student on what kind of explanation they would need. I also know when a student needs to be assisted with the problem or let them figure it out on their own.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing that a tutor can provide a student is the careful confidence to handle a problem. Even with the best of preparation, a student cannot even begin to answer the question if they do not have the confidence and are engulfed by fear. By developing that mindset, students are then able to think clearly, mentalise the steps needed and arrive at a solution. In addition, being complacent due to confidence is not a good behaviour to have as well. Hence, the tutor must balance the capabilities of the student and the correct level of confidence they should have.
