What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
Helping !!!
I really enjoy the interaction between student and tutor during my undergraduate study. It is just way better to discuss the challenge with someone rather than solving it yourself. You won't feel lost, down, and despair. Since I have that experience and I graduated, now I wish to be the one who helps and guides student.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I am a fresh graduate so the memory of being tutored and mentoring (the science mentoring program I participated) still fresh in my mind, so I understand what student needs and the role of being a tutor (caring, communication patiently, responsibility and so on). Besides, I have deep understanding of the subject I learnt (especially maths), which justified by my academic result.
Most important things I can do for a student π
Be responsible. It is still important to reply student outside the tutor session just because sometimes a tricky question looks easy for us but the student will struggle for a very long time. I got lucky that most of the tutors still reply me after the tutorial session. I learn this precious personality from them and I will do it too.
Also, everyone is different so we shouldn't expect the same level of understanding from everyone. A tutor need to be observant and if he/she discovers that a student looks confused, he/she should spend more time explaining to that student patiently.
