The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to be a platform that naturally promotes their own learning. A tutor must be able to nurture the student's understanding whilst not overpowering them. Asking questions to the student is a great way of doing this. Being nurturing allows the student to gain confidence in themselves which will help in future academics or most importantly on a personal level.
