What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is the way it can change someone's life. When I was younger I myself was tutored for Maths and English in primary school. With the help from my tutors and my own motivation, I was able to go from a failing student who had to be held back in the first grade, to a high school student in the Honours Academic program. I received top rankings and awards when once I had the lowest grades, I'm hoping to motivate and aid any other student so they may have the same experience as I.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths are that since I'm only two years out of high school I still know what they are teaching and how, such as understanding the change from pen and paper to laptops most schools have made. Since the age gap between my potential students and I would not be significant I will know how to communicate and interact with them.
Another strength is not only my skills in English but my continued willingness to improve them, as tutoring a student in English will not only help them but will also improve my own skills.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for their student is never let them lose their confidence and motivation. Before assessments most students are their worst enemy, stressing themselves out to the point in which they forget everything they have learned. I too have done this and know it comes from a lack of confidence. Therefore, it is imperative that even after getting ten questions wrong the tutor never allows their student to feel dumb and that their work is pointless. A tutor must constantly motivate their student into believing that they can always improve if they work hard enough.
